The world of WordPress continues to evolve, and this year’s WordCamp Asia 2025, held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila, was a testament to the growing impact of open-source development. From February 20th to 22nd, web developers, designers, and industry leaders gathered for a three-day journey of innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. Among them was our WordPress team from MPH International, eager to explore the latest trends and breakthroughs in the WordPress ecosystem.
The event kicked off with Contributor Day on February 20th, offering an opportunity for attendees to contribute directly to the WordPress project. This initiative fosters a culture of collaboration, where professionals of all skill levels can support, learn, and enhance WordPress together.
One of the standout experiences was the Human Library sessions, where industry experts provided one-on-one mentorship and guidance. Our team had the privilege of engaging with some of the brightest minds in the field:
Day 2 featured an insightful keynote by Matías Ventura, a leading figure in WordPress development—watch the recording here. This was followed by an engaging Block Developer Workshop with Ryan Welcher, where participants learned to create feature-rich Gutenberg blocks. Another must-attend session was "Decoding Vulnerabilities: Elevating WordPress Security with LLMs", presented by Rashmi Nagpal, which underscored the power of Large Language Models (LLMs) in strengthening WordPress security.
The sponsor booths at WordCamp Asia 2025 were a hub of cutting-edge technology and industry networking. Some of our key takeaways from these interactions included:
On the final day, Matt Mullenweg, Co-Founder of WordPress and CEO of Automattic, delivered an inspiring closing keynote, highlighting the platform’s evolution and its future direction—watch it here. Additionally, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) reaffirmed its commitment to integrating WordPress into government and academic institutions across the Philippines. WordCamp Asia 2025 was more than just a conference—it was an immersive experience that brought together over 2,000 attendees from 70 countries to learn, collaborate, and push the boundaries of WordPress innovation. With over 50 sessions running across five expansive halls, the event provided a wealth of knowledge and networking opportunities.
For just $31 per ticket, attendees gained access to cutting-edge insights, exclusive workshops, and valuable industry connections—not to mention the exciting swag that we can’t wait to share with our team.
A special shout-out to our web development team, Lead Johan, Patricia, Jaina, and our dedicated interns—for their commitment to learning and growth. A heartfelt thank-you to Ash, whose incredible photography and videography captured the essence of this unforgettable event.
